SPECS4US was created and founded in 2004 by Maria Dellapina, a single mother of four, with over 25 years of experience in the optical field. Maria is a mother of a child with Down Syndrome (Erin). When Erin was born, Maria recognized that Erin needed corrective eyewear. After two stressful years of searching for a frame to fit her daughter, Maria decided to use her knowledge and passion as both an optician and mother to help Erin and others like her have access to appropriately fitting frames. Four years later, Maria received her first shipment of Erin’ s World frames, a specially designed frame to accommodate the unique facial features of children and adults with Down Syndrome. Erin's World™ is a frame line designed to accommodate and fit children and adults with Down syndrome which makes it superior to the all current frames. Unlike other frames, the bridge is adjusted to fit on the unique features of the nose and the temples (a.k.a. arms) are modified to keep the glasses from constantly slipping. Erin's World frames are available in a variety of sizes and styles to fit toddlers through adults. Our Mission:
To improve the sight and quality of life for children with Down Syndrome by providing custom frames that fit their unique needs.
SPECS4US designed Erin’s World frames to provide a comfortable alternative in eyeglasses for the Down Syndrome community. With a pair of Erin’s World frames your child will no longer be constrained by their eyeglasses. The innovative design enhances their opportunities to explore the world freely and clearly without having to wear glasses that are too big, uncomfortable and constantly slipping or falling off. These frames are made with your child’s unique needs and features in mind to solve the problems that regular eyeglasses never could.
