Why Our Patented Frames Are Different
Lowered Bridge
Tired of your glasses constantly slipping down?
A flat nasal bridge is a common physical characteristic of Down syndrome. By lowering the bridge placement on our frames will allow it to sit up higher on low flat nasal bridges and prevent slipping. If your glasses are slipping, it can affect your vision.
Lowered Temple Placement
Ears of individuals with Down syndrome are often low set, meaning the top of their outer ear is at or below the line that connects the inner corners of their eyes. By adjusting the temple placement this allows the frames to fit more comfortably.
Widened Frame Front
Individuals with Down syndrome often have narrower-set eyes. Widening the frame front helps align the lenses with the optical center—the middle of the lens for clearest vision. Proper fit and correct pupil alignment are essential when choosing glasses.
Adjustable Temples
Our temple diameter on most models is the same throughout the length of the temple and can be cut down to size if needed. Models #11, 12, 13, and 15 have flexible TR90 temples which cannot be cut down to size or extended; however, we do have different length temple replacements available upon request (110 mm, 120 mm, and higher).
